Emotional Freedom Techniques TM


The Emotional Freedom Technique is designed to interrupt neurological imprints and psychological patterning that influence your emotional balance. This is done through tapping on the endpoints of energy meridians on the body.
The limbic system of the brain stores all emotional events. This is how the brain processes any kind of stimulus:

EVENT >> THOUGHT >> EMOTION >> ACT ON THE EMOTION
If the emotion is not discharged:
It overloads the Hypothalamus >> this throws the Pituitary out of balance >> this effects the Hormones >> Symptoms develop >> then we worry about our symptoms and a loop is created. As Gary Craig states: "The cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body's energy system."

Everything is energy and encoded information! Your environment, and the imprints created since conception, influence your reactive behavior to life conditions, whether or not you are conscious of the source of the imbalance. EFT helps the body redirect blocked energy. Change happens in your energy system which includes the meridians --the energy transportation system-- and chakras --the energy stations. As you tune into your problem, the tapping unblocks stuck energies (similar to what is done in acupuncture or acupressure ) and creates "emotional freedom" around the problem being focused on. The release is easily and painlessly accomplished through a series of taps on your face and upper body using your fingertips. You do the tapping for yourself and, once you learn this technique, you can use it anytime for any kind of problem: Fears, Phobias, Belief Systems, Self-conficence Issues, PTSD, Guilt, Grief, Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Performance Anxiety, Physical Ailments, and Mental, Physical or Emotional Abuse.

Your success with EFT is not dependent upon your belief that it works or whether you can "feel anything" changing as you do the tapping (although you may). This technique is totally safe. You cannot make your body release something it is not ready to release; you cannot harm your body with this technique; even if you forget the sequence, you can just start again. What you tap out will not return. If you still have negative emotions around a particular issue you have tapped out, it simply means that there are remaining aspects of that issue to be tapped out.

These techniques break the negative energy circuit and discharge the emotion, thus freeing that tied up energy to be used in other areas of your life. You are not required to re-experience the trauma. It is important to drink plenty of water after tapping and to rest when tired.
I have been using these techniques for over five years, with myself, my clients and in group workshops. I study material presented by Gary Craig (www.emofree.com) as well as having taken a workshop with Kay Snow-Davis (www.soulpuposeacademy.com).
I am currently accepting individual clients who would like to work on quitting smoking as well as women who would be interested in working on weight loss. I also utilize EFT within my therapy practice in combination with other techniques.
